Matthew 5:17-30. Righteousness, Anger, and Lust

Questions:

1. Put into your own words: What is the righteousness that exceeds the scribes and Pharisees?

2. How and in what ways do you think Christ's teaching on heart transformation is similar to an apple or orange tree?

3. Is there a person or a group that causes you anger? How, or in what ways, do you see the Holy Spirit helping you with that anger?

4. Is there a type of lust that you struggle with? Is there someone in your life who can help you out with that?

Deeper Discussion Questions:

1. Do a word study on Gehenna, Hades, Sheol, and Tartarus. How are they the same and how are they different?

2. Is it wrong to follow all of God's laws from the Old Testament? Which of his laws from the Old Testament should we still follow and which ones not? Why?
